Happy Feet

Give me a choice - facial, head massage, or pedicure - any day, any time I would choose the last option; even if I have got a pedicure done just a day before. In fact, I have chosen it even over a luxurious and indulgent body massage and I generally judge a salon or spa by how well they do the pedicure. If they do the pedicure and eye brows well, know that the place has it's basics right and you will be well taken care of. Or well you may say that's me - but my this evaluation test has almost always been right.
However, let's just keep it to I have a weakness for pedicures and I love my feet to be kneaded and scrubbed and massaged to feel truly pampered and relaxed. The whole process of the acupoints on the soles being pressed, toes gently pulled and heels softly kneaded can instantly relax me and transport me to the seveth heaven. Basically more than the cleaning and scrubbing process, I enjoy the massage part of a pedicure and therefore, when I do have the time I go to place that scores on this aspect and my favourite place for this is the Affinity Salon in Green Park, New Delhi. There the pedicurist Sanjay is just super. While the salon offers a choice between cream and oil massage; I prefer to take my own oil blend which I make with a few drops of orange essential oil thrown into a bottle of olive oil. Sometimes I also get it done with hot mustard oil. Okay, before you wrinkle your nose at that, try it on a winter afternoon and tell me.
In Mumbai, Frida's Salon in Bandra and the Juice Nail Bar in Khar also do a fab pedis. And in Calcutta of course I love what my mom offers in her salon, Saajo. Apart from the regular feet treatment, mom has also devised a super de-tan pedi, where a quick glycolic peel is done to give an instant glow to your limbs.
Talking of special pedis, I cannot but not mention the heavenly Blueberry Cheesecake Pedicure at Seven Seas Evania Spa in Defence Colony, New Delhi. The experience is lets just say delicious. I can go on and on about this mouthwatering treatment but you have to try it yourself to know how delectable this zero calorie treat is!
